The BTEC in Aviation Studies is a nationally recognised award and is equivalent to 1 GCSE in science grade A to C.

BTEC Intermediate Award in Aviation Studies

This qualification is equivalent to 1 x Grade C GCSE and is automatically awarded on completion of the Leading Cadet Syllabus. No extra work is involved by cadets as this award compliments the Aviation Syllabus already followed by all Air Cadets.

BTEC Intermediate Certificate in Aviation Studies

This qualification is equivalent to 2 x Grade C GCSE’s and is automatically awarded on completion of the Master Air Cadet Syllabus. No extra work is involved by cadets as this award compliments the Aviation Syllabus already followed by all Air Cadets.

BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Public Services

This qualification is open to all Air Cadets who have completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, passed Leading Cadet and attended a recognised JNCO, SNCO, Leadership or CMOI course. It is equivalent to 4 x Grades A*-C GCSE’s. A little extra work is required, such as attendance at a workshop training day, but it is well worth it!

BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Music

This qualification is open to Air Cadets who are active members of one of the squadron bands or who independently have attained musical grading. It is equivalent to 4 x Grades A*-C GCSE’s and develops skills above and beyond those of a GCSE in Music as cadets are required to conduct rehearsals and also plan events.
