Mr Robert Durgan
Hi, a bit about myself. I am still married to my first wife with at least 2 kids. I am employed by Ministry Of Justice as a Senior Manager in the Prison Service.
I have worked within the voluntary sector, with young people, for many years. I am an experienced Scout Leader and am still involved within the Scouting Organisation. I also work with Lancashire Youth Services and actively mentor and assess within the D of E scheme.
Why join the ATC? - Well, that is an easy one. I spent 4 years in the Sea Cadets in Liverpool and managed to get to go flying and drive a tank. So, I join the ATC in the hope that one day I will sail a boat!!!!!!!!!!!
Qualifications as a CI? - D of E stuff/maps & compass etc, experienced camp leader, survival skills, backwoods cooking, fire and shelter building, knives and axes, NSRA qualified air rifle instructor/range Marshall, first aider and trained trainer (presentation skills).
One interesting fact that I will regret giving up to you? - Used to play the snare and base drums in a Sally Army marching band. Went on to play the guitar and the spoons in the spoon band. Not good.
